Meet The Optometrists

​​​​​Dr. Benzoni received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Richmond graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also received her Masters in Vision Science while in Optometry school. She completed a residency in Primary Care at SUNY Optometry which was affiliated with The Laser Center specializing in refractive surgery, and Woodhull Hospital specializing in advanced ocular disease. 

Dr. Benzoni was the President of the student chapters of the American Academy of Optometry, and the President of COVD (College of Optometrists inVision Development). She was also the President of SVOSH, a volunteer organization that traveled to Peru and Honduras to give eye exams to those in need. She was a Beta Sigma Kappa Scholar all four years and received the Chancellor's Award upon graduation. She is distinguished among her colleagues since completing a Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry, a distinction held by only 10% of all optometrists. Dr. Benzoni is dedicated to patient care and provides comprehensive eye exams including specialized diagnostic testing and pediatrics.

In her spare time, Dr. Benzoni enjoys researching topics in her field, exercising, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and newborn son.

​​​​​Dr. Modesto graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001. She attended SUNY College of Optometry and graduated in 2006. She had Beta Sigma Kappa honors all 4 years.

Dr. Modesto went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease at SUNY College of Optometry and Woodhull Hospital. She is also a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a distinction held by only 10% of optometrists. Dr. Modesto is dedicated to caring for her patients and has extensive experience in primary eyecare and in contact lens fitting including specialty contact lenses. 

In her spare time, Dr. Modesto enjoys fitness, cooking, and traveling with her family.

​​​​​Dr. Tracy Rossi received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Siena College in 2012. In 2016, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from The State University of New York, College of Optometry.

Upon graduating she completed a residency at the Northport VA Medical Center specializing in primary eye care, vision therapy, head trauma rehabilitation as well as low vision training and management of ocular disease. While in training, Dr. Rossi served as the President of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists at SUNY College of Optometry where she participated in a variety of volunteer activities including several week-long mission trips to Oaxaca, Mexico. She received the Dr. Max Cohen Memorial Award for her volunteer commitment to community service. In addition, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key International Optometric Honor Societies.

In 2018 Dr. Rossi became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a distinction held by only 10% of all optometrists. 

In her spare time, she can be found surrounded by her family and friends playing board games, trying out a new brunch spot, or having a conversation over a good cup of tea.

​​​​​Dr. Elaine Bouras grew up in Queens, NY, and received her Bachelor of Science degree at St. John’s University in 2012. She continued her education at SUNY Optometry in New York City, where she received her degree in 2018.

Her internship year included rotations through various optometry specialties such as pediatrics, contact lenses, and advanced care, at a community health center in East NY. She has since moved out to Long Island with her family and enjoys performing comprehensive eye examinations in a private practice setting.
